WhatsApp Announces 5 New Status Update Features

WhatsApp has added a new set of features to its well-known Status feature. A Private Audience Selector is one of the new features that lets users choose the privacy settings for each status they share.

Users will now be able to record and share voice messages on WhatsApp Status that last for up to 30 seconds thanks to the addition of Voice Status. Users will be able to quickly respond to status updates from close friends and contacts by using one of eight emojis with Status Reactions. Status Profile Rings for New Updates, which revolve around a contact's profile picture whenever they share a status update, have also been added to the platform.

Users will never miss a status update from a loved one because the ring will be visible in the contact information, group participant lists, and chat lists. Lastly, when posting a link to their status, users can view a visual preview of the link's content with the new Link Previews on Status feature. In the coming weeks, all users worldwide will be able to download and install the updates.

Five new features coming to WhatsApp Status

Private Audience Selector: You have complete control over who sees your status updates thanks to this feature. Each status can have a different audience, and the privacy settings will be saved for future updates.

Voice Status: You can now record and share voice messages that last up to 30 seconds in your status on WhatsApp. Sharing personal updates in this way is a great way to express yourself more naturally.

Status Reactions: The addition of status reactions has made it even simpler to respond to status updates. To quickly respond to a status, swipe up and tap one of the eight emojis. You can still respond with stickers, voice messages, and text messages.

Status Profile Rings: The new status profile ring ensures that you never miss a loved one's status update. When your contact updates their status, the ring will appear around their profile picture. It will also be visible in chat lists, group participant lists, and contact info.

Link Previews on Status: Just like when you send a message, when you post a link in your status, you will now see a visual preview of the link's content. This improves the appearance of your statuses and lets your contacts know more about the link before they click it.
