video does not show Muslims performing namaz on French streets; rather, it shows climate activists protesting.

A video shows a group of people sitting in the middle of the road wearing reflective vests and blocking traffic. They were soon observed being hurriedly dragged away by a group of people. Many people shared this video on social media, claiming that it showed Muslims in France removing Muslims who were praying in the middle of the road with force. It was written by Tathagata Roy, the former governor of Meghalaya, who later deleted it.

Madhu Purnima Kishwar, a right-wing activist and scholar, tweeted the same video claiming the same thing. France, Kishwar wrote. The Namazi-occupied roads are being cleared by individuals getting out of their automobiles. All democracies' governments are cowardly because vote banks hold them hostage. Only citizen action can prevent the deadly spread of MuzzBees. These posts are available in their archived forms here and here.

The video was found to be from a Paris protest organized by environmental activists, according to AFWA's investigation. It does not depict Muslims preventing traffic during namaz.

We were able to locate a Daily Express report with the same video by performing a reverse search of the keyframes of the viral video. On the Levallois bridge in Levallois-Perret, drivers in Paris are seen dragging climate activists off the road, according to this report, which was published on December 2.

The activist group, known as "Dernière Rénovation" (Last Renovation), reportedly demanded that Parisian buildings be thermally renovated. The protesters slowed down traffic and provoked the ire of commuters.

We found multiple reports about the incident that used the same video or screenshots from it after conducting a subsequent search. At the beginning of December, a number of individuals shared the same video on Twitter and referred to it as an environmental protest.

Additionally, we discovered several French media accounts of protesters from Dernière Rénovation blocking roads in various locations. The group has urged the French government to improve building insulation, which it claims could significantly reduce carbon emissions.

Fact: A video from France which shows some angry commuters dragging climate change activists off a road is being shared with false claims.
