According to reports, a developer discovered paid verification in Instagram's source code. This could enable users to obtain the coveted "blue tick" next to their name to indicate that their account has been verified. This rumor first surfaced just a few months after Elon Musk purchased Twitter and introduced the verification feature known as "Twitter Blue," which provided users with similar advantages.
Alessandro Paluzzi, as reported by TechCrunch, discovered code fragments indicating that Meta-owned platforms Instagram and Facebook may soon offer paid verification services on both platforms. TechCrunch received screenshots from Paluzzi that read: "IG_NME_PAID_BLUE_BADGE_IDV" and "FB_NME_PAID_BLUE_BADGE_IDV" are two examples.

While there has been no authority declaration from Instagram, such an element could exist, considering that Imprint Zuckerberg and his group have been putting vigorously in the improvement of the Metaverse and looking for elective wellsprings of income.
According to 9to5Mac, companies like Meta have also lost a lot of advertising revenue as a result of Apple's App Tracking Transparency requirement. This loss was estimated to be $10 billion last year.
Chief Adam Mosseri acknowledged that Instagram has also been open about recent issues, such as the removal of the Instagram shopping feature and excessive video promotion through Instagram Reels.
Meta might be able to offer a subscription service to its users, much like Twitter does, with features like revenue sharing and the coveted blue badge verification. On both the Android and iOS platforms, Twitter Blue currently costs $8 per month, or $11 in-app.
