M3GAN 2 will be return in 2025

Prepare to hear more "M3GAN." In 2025, the most popular demonic dancing doll on the internet will return to theaters.

The campy thriller Atomic Monster and Blumhouse's "M3GAN 2.0" are officially working on a follow-up. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on January 17, 2025, according to Universal.

The sequel will be written by screenwriter Akela Cooper once more. The plot has not been revealed, but M3GAN's pint-sized best friend, Violet McGraw, and Allison Williams, whose character helped bring the chaotic AI-like doll to life, will return for "2.0." The first film was directed by Gerard Johnstone; however, no director has been named for the sequel.

The film known as "M3GAN," which stands for "Model 3 Generative Android," made its debut in January and has since gone on to earn $91 million worldwide. Since it cost $12 million, it is already making money for the people who funded it. Producers Jason Blum and James Wan made it clear that they wanted to make another movie about a killer doll even before "M3GAN" became the latest hot girl at the box office.

Blum stated "After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work." Therefore, we deviated from our fundamental rule and began discussing a sequel prior to the release of the movie. We started considering a sequel earlier than usual because I was so optimistic.

The sequel has producers in Blum, Wan, and Williams. Executive producers will be Wan's Atomic Monster collaborators Michael Clear and Judson Scott. Mark Katchur and Blumhouse's Ryan Turek will serve as executive producers. Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath, from Separation/Vanquish, will likewise act as leader makers.

CAA, Untitled, and Frankfurt, Kurnit, Klein & Selz represent Williams. Coast to Coast Talent Group, Industry Entertainment, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham all represent McGraw. Rise Management and CAA represent Cooper. Stacey Testro International, CAA, and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light represent Wan.
