Jeremy Renner Shares Hospital Bed Selfie Since Snow Plowing Accident

Jeremy Renner is sharing his appreciation for his fans from his emergency clinic bed. In a new selfie, Renner reassured fans that he would be fine after suffering a serious injury on Sunday that necessitated hospitalization and surgery.

On Tuesday, the Hawkeye actor posted a picture of his battered face and a thank-you message to Instagram.

Renner wrote, "Thank you all for your kind words." I'm too messed up to type right now. However, I love you all.

The actor's rep gave ET a positive update alongside Renner's visual update. The representative stated on Tuesday that Jeremy is awake, speaking, and in good spirits and is making positive progress. He is still in critical but stable condition in the ICU. He is overwhelmed by the support and love shown to him. While he recovers with his close loved ones, the family requests that you keep them in your thoughts.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Washoe County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Bryan Samudio explained that a snowcat and a pedestrian were involved in a call to 9-1-1 on Sunday morning at 8:55 a.m. The pedestrian had been run over by the snowcat near Mount Rose Highway. Samudio claims that the region had received approximately three feet of snow the previous evening.

"Mr. Renner's own vehicle, which was being driven by a relative, had become stuck in the snow close to his home," Samudio made sense of. " In an effort to get his vehicle moving, Mr. Renner went to get his piston bully, or snowcat, which is a very large piece of mobile equipment that weighs at least 14,330 pounds.

"Mr. Renner got out of his piston bully to talk to his family member after successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location. The piston bully began to roll at this point, as can be seen," he continued. Mr. Renner tried to get back in the driver's seat of the piston bully in an effort to stop the rolling piston bully. According to our investigation, the piston bully ran over Mr. Renner at this point."

Samudio explained that Renner was speaking to first responders and still conscious after the accident. He was flown by care plane to a hospital in the Reno area.

Additionally, the police department is still interviewing people and processing evidence at the scene of a major active investigation. Renner did not appear to be impaired at the time of the accident, according to authorities.

ET learned on Monday that Renner had chest surgery to treat his injuries. The accident left Renner with "blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries," according to his publicist.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office told ET on Sunday morning that they "responded to a traumatic injury" while Renner was in the Mt. Rose Highway area of Reno, Nevada.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office stated, "Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for Mr. Jeremy Renner's medical transport via care flight to a local area hospital." The only party involved in the incident was Mr. Renner. The Washoe Area Sheriff's Office Significant Mishap Examination Group is right now investigating the conditions of the occurrence."

Renner, who lives outside of Reno near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, has previously uploaded videos and pictures of himself utilizing his plow to assist his family in escaping winter storms when they pass.
