Due to the success of the second sequel, the fourth and fifth Avatar films will be produced, according to director James Cameron just recently. With $1.7 billion USD worldwide, the film has now surpassed Jurassic World as the seventh highest grossing film in history, continuing its upward trend.
The Way of Water has brought in $1.19 billion worldwide and $517 million in North America alone just a month after its release. The film is now the fifth highest grossing international release, just behind Avatar: The Beginning, Titanic, and Avengers: Infinity War. Avengers and Endgame: The Endgame The second Avatar film is currently the pandemic era's second-largest and highest-grossing 2022 release.
The Way of Water is gaining ground on Spider-Man: With $1.91 billion USD, No Way Home is the sixth highest-grossing film of all time. The second installment has a chance of reaching $2 billion USD worldwide at the rate of its success. Only Avatar (2.9 billion USD) and Avengers: Infinity War are among the five films in history to have grossed more than $2 billion USD.
