All Banks strike for two days next week

The State Bank of India (SBI) has informed its customers that the upcoming two-day bank strike called by the Union Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) on January 30 and 31 "may be impacted" on banking services at its branches.

"We inform that the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) has informed us that the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has served a Notice of Strike informing the members of the constituent Unions of UFBU viz. SBI stated in a regulatory filing on January 24 that AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, and INBOC "propose to go on a nationwide Bank Strike on the 30th and 31st of January, 2023 in support of their demands."

The bank stated that it cannot estimate the strike's potential loss.
