Xbox exclusive Redfall is expected to launch in early May 2023

Arkane Studios, the developers of Deathloop, Prey, and Dishonored, will soon release Redfall exclusively for the Xbox One. Redfall is the first Xbox console exclusive produced as a result of Microsoft's recent acquisition of the studio as part of its significant ZeniMax Media acquisition.

In 2023, Redfall will join Starfield as part of Microsoft's extensive Xbox and PC gaming console lineup. Microsoft has previously stated that Redfall intends to release in the first half of the year 2023. Redfall is planning to release in the first week of May 2023, as per reports and our own sources, which I confirmed on my XB2+1 Xbox podcast on Tuesday.

Okami13 started the rumors, claiming that Redfall would be released in early May. These reports were supported by our own sources this past week. Microsoft's internal goals for the game's release in early May included a Forza Horizon 5-like early access period. Forza Horizon 5 had a "premium edition" that gave players early access to the game for a few days. If everything goes according to plan, Redfall will get the same treatment.

In Redfall, an open-world action game, up to four friends can work together in drop-in co-op to save an island town from a nasty vampire infection. Potential vampire hunters can choose from a variety of inventive weapons, combat abilities, and stealth gameplay options. The engineer underscores that the performance "vivid sim" interactivity the studio is known for is as yet a possibility for the individuals who look for a more conventional Arkane experience.

Arkane should hit PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles in early May 2023 if everything goes according to plan. The game will be available on Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as day one in Xbox Game Pass for good measure.

After the relative lack of first-party content we experienced through 2022, Redfall will hopefully contribute to what should be a great year for Microsoft and new Xbox games.
